When we built the BEHAVES Academy, we really wanted to make behavioural psychology less lofty and theoretical and more pragmatic.

Something truly applied, that was useful in leadership and change (and not exclusively about ideas for marketing and sales). We wanted to put it in the hands of everyone – but especially those we’ve worked with most in our other work: namely, those working with internal organisational change or transformation in some way, shape or form.

"There’s even an entire module dedicated to letting you put your skills to use in a practical worked case study to see how you’d fare as a behavioural consultant."

Of course, there are some fantastic other courses out there – but whether it was the price, the style, the content, the time commitment or the scalability, we felt none of them were quite right for those with the difficult and sometimes thankless job of making things happen every day at work.
So, when we couldn’t find the right course, we decided to build it ourselves.
What we built – the BEHAVES Academy – is a new kind of e-learning course for behavioural science.

One that’s different in three big ways.

It’s comprehensive – but accessible

We invested a lot of time, effort and coffee into turning more than 100 years of behavioural science research into something quick and easy to understand and remember.

What does that look like? Well, BEHAVES compresses all that academia into just three hours of accessible information, including:

  • The seven effective levers that power all human actions
  • Fourteen powerful insights that can be applied to those levers
  • Seven steps to work through any behaviour-change campaign

Was all that easy? No.
Was it worth it? Hell yes!

We may have completely exhausted our behavioural science and instructional design teams in the process, but that was a small price to pay to make such a world-changing field as accessible as possible.

After all, behavioural science is the science of people. It’s meant to live and grow in the workplaces where real people gather, not stay hidden in nebulous academic texts.

01

It’s active rather than passive learning

So much training – as well-meaning as it is – is just someone talking at you for several hours. The person might be incredible and the topic fascinating but… countless hours of passive video-watching aren’t fun. And they certainly aren’t how people learn best.

So, we made the BEHAVES academy a little different. It’s rarely passive – we’ve worked hard to make it as active as possible for the learner. By using accessible language to keep things simple, offering visual hooks to aid retention and a whole variety of formats – a few videos, yes, but also on-screen text, interactive quizzes, worked examples etc. – to keep you interested, entertained, and learning every step of the way.

Because making it active and fun makes it more effective.

(Behavioural science training built using behavioural science? How meta.)

02

It’s demonstrably pragmatic

BEHAVES isn’t just an academic exercise – it’s applied behavioural science.

Our team of behavioural science experts also have backgrounds and experience in corporate communications, change management, learning and development and a whole host of other fields – meaning they have real insight into the realities of day-to-day business life. That means we’ve built the BEHAVES academy from the ground up, to give you a practical framework to apply everything you learn to the business world.

After all, what use is all that knowledge if it doesn’t survive first contact with a stakeholder?

Your learning will be backed up by real-world examples, practical applications and hypothetical scenarios from a range of different scenarios. Plus there’s even an entire module dedicated to letting you put your skills to use in a practical worked case study to see how you’d fare as a behavioural consultant (don’t worry: you’ll be great!).

As if all that wasn’t enough, the course is CPD accredited – meaning at the end you get a certificate to demonstrate your newfound expertise.

03

Apply behavioural science to your role with BEHAVES

BEHAVES is built to be an accessible, engaging and practical way to start applying behavioural science principles to your work.
If your role involves helping people change, learn and grow, you’ll come away with actionable insights, comprehensive frameworks and real-world examples that will help you put everything you learned into practice.
Learn & grow
