But only
In partnership with Risky Women and the Association of Governance, Risk and Compliance (AGRC), we recently surveyed 123 GRC professionals – mostly senior-level (86% manager level or above) from across EMEA, APAC, North America and LATAM.
The data tells a clear story: the profession is aware of behavioural science, increasingly convinced it matters, but largely unsure what to do next.
”Ultimately people aren't rational, and there is a myriad of factors that influence a decision – time, experience, knowledge, time pressure, people-pleasing, career advancement or protection. So, the expectation that policies and frameworks will firstly be read and secondly be followed is a significant oversight.

The report looks at the findings in detail, including:
98% are at least aware of behavioural science, but only 25% feel they’re truly familiar with it
52% describe themselves as “interested but unsure how to apply it” – the largest group in the survey
Why the biggest obstacle isn’t relevance (only 10% said that) but knowledge, confidence, and practical tools
”Knowing how your audience thinks, feels, and what motivates them is key to robust risk-profiling, effective training and meaningful interactions – and helps avoid the trap of one-size-fits-all approaches. - GRC professional
